Rossi McKee took part in a panel discussion on responsible gaming policies at SiGMA East Europe in Budapest. McKee, who is the majority shareholder of Telematic Interactive Bulgaria, spoke more about the regulatory changes in the region over the last year.
During the discussion, Rossi McKee made an in-depth analysis, paying special attention to the new legislation in Bulgaria, which imposes significant restrictions on gambling advertising. She stressed that these changes are indicative of a broader trend towards stronger player protection measures across the region. “The implementation of regulations, particularly in relation to responsible gambling and player protection measures, must take into account the specificities of the local market,” noted Rossi McKee.
Mrs. McKee also shared how these regulatory changes are shaping the future of the gaming industry in the region. She highlighted the need for operators to pro-actively integrate responsible gaming practices into their business models, thereby not only meeting regulatory requirements but also building loyalty among players.
During the discussion Mrs. McKee talked about the work of the Responsible Gaming Foundation in Bulgaria. The Foundation has a significant role in assisting operators in these regulatory transitions by offering resources and guidance on implementing responsible gaming measures. Initiatives such as On Focus: Responsible Gaming has been particularly effective in helping operators adapt to new regulations while focusing on player protection.
The panel analyzed how similar regulatory frameworks can be effectively adapted in different cultural contexts in Eastern Europe. The discussion highlighted the importance of collaboration between regulators and operators to ensure that responsible gaming becomes an integral part of the industry’s growth strategy.
